My Very Own Skincare Regimen (7 Steps)

by - Saturday, August 19, 2017
One of my most favorite times of the day is during my skincare routine.

Yes, you heard it right. 7 layers of skincare. Mungkin bagi sebagian orang (which I believe mostly are men) ini sedikit berlebihan—atau sangat berlebihan. I skipped treatment steps most of the time. Alasannya? Ya apa lagi kalau bukan males. Dan budget sih sebenernya! Hahaha. Serum dan essence itu mayan mahal bo’ buat kantong mahasiswa yang uang jajannya udah keburu abis duluan buat beli textbook (dan bayar kegiatan organisasi, nonton konser, nonton film, beli gelato, dll). Intinya, ngga ada spare budget buat splurging on skincare stuffs deh.

Anyway, it happened 2-4 years ago. Jadi, mana sempet ngurusin muka? Lagian, walaupun wajah kucel begitu buktinya masih banyak yang naksir. HAHAHA YA ALLAH PEDE BANGET. Just kidding!

Sebenernya kalau dibilang ngga sempet, aslinya sempet sih.

Then, commitment is the key.

Prinsipnya sama sih dengan apa yang Hirons, Rouleau, atau Affi lakukan: first thing first—double cleanse, then exfoliate, tone, treat, and moisture. Semua orang berhak punya skincare regimen sendiri. (penting banget)

So, yeah. I made my own skincare regimen and have been doing this every now and then.

Kalau di awal tadi saya bilang 7 steps, sebetulnya ngga betul-betul 7 steps sih—9 steps to be precise. (lah makin banyak???) Yaudah, coba aja kalian itung sendiri ya.

My Daily Skincare Regimen
Skin Type: Combination (Normal to Oily)

1. Double Cleanse
Setelah seharian berkegiatan, mau pake make up/ngga, mau indoor/outdoor, sudah pasti wajah kita itu kotor.

Cukup ampuh buat ngangkat produk make up yang nempel di wajah. Cara pakainya pun ngga ribet. Cukup tuang beberapa pump produnya ke telapak tangan, trus usap-usap ke seluruh muka sambil dipijat lembut. Boleh dihapus pakai kapas, boleh langsung dibilas pakai facial wash. Kalau saya lebih suka cara yang kedua. Up to your preference aja.

Makanya saya ngga begitu suka. Tapi, kemampuannya buat mengangkat sisa make-up oke juga kok.

Setelah bersihin muka pakai oil-based cleanser, harus banget wajib ‘ain bilas muka dengan water-based cleanser. Saya pakai Acnes Face Wash Oil Control. Has always been in my basic keep since 2014, so… no comment, no complaint, no nothing.
Hehehe. Karena prinsip saya untuk face wash itu ngga perlu splurging dan harus over the counter products, semata-mata biar gampang dapetinnya. Daaaan...

Simply because it’s the toner of 21st century. It’s the toner for millenials. Hahaha, kidding.

You need to somewhat splurge for this step. At the very least, affordable lah. But… It didn’t work well on me :( Saya pernah pakai COSRX AHA/BHA Clarifying Treatment Toner tapi yang ada bikin breakout.

Sekarang saya sudah punya tambatan hati lain, yaitu The Ordinary Glycolic Acid 7% Toning Solution. Jadi yaaa, say no more. This one’s worth buying!

Tips: bagi yang belum pernah pakai acid toner sebelumnya, disarankan pake yang kandungan acidnya mild dulu, because it will cause some tingling sensations when you apply it for the first time, perih-perih enak gemash gimana gitu.

This one thing, you better be stealing it! Ngga perlu keluarin kocek mahal-mahal buat hydrating toner. Yang ada ngga bikin muka kalian terhidrasi, tapi malah perih and of course, dry!

Kalem aja, walaupun judulnya lotion tapi sebenernya dia fluid and it really is a hydrating toner. I would definitely rave this product for its virtue and holy affordable price! Happy!

Tips: If you want something more organic (and cheap!) as hydrating toner, use rose water.

4. Essence
Hahaha.

Let me introduce you to Avoskin Perfect Hydrating Treatment Essence. The only chemical thing I trusted to put on my face when nothing else did :”) produk ini memang memberikan kesan emosional yang mendalam sih buat saya pribadi, haha. Beberapa tahun lalu ketika wajah saya breakout parah and I had to deal with dullness also, this product came into my life and changed everything!

I think I would gladly spend my money on this! Dan, ini udah memasuki botol ketiga saya. Padahal 1 botol itu  habisnya baru 5-6 bulan. Kalo irit gini mah, jatohnya jadi ngga mahal kok.

5. Treatment
Same goes with face oil ya, pilihlah face oil yang sesuai sama problem kulit wajah.

You would never like this product in the first instance! Just like I did! Kayak bau susu basi dicampur alkohol. Hoekkk!
Tapi efeknya luar biasa! Lagi-lagi The Ordinary bikin saya jatuh cinta sama tekstur wajah saya sendiri.

Selain itu, saya juga punya “cadangan” oil-based serum a.k.a face oil dari Haple. Saya pakai yang Rice Bran Oil dan Grapeseed Oil. Fyi, Haple ini produk lokal lho, dan ngga kalah sama face oilnya Sukin ataupun Sunday Riley (ngaco dan sotoy banget, hahaha). But it’s a good deal, I promise!

6. Moisturize

Moisturizer is so basic. Super basic. Siapapun bahkan yang ngga rajin pake skincare biasanya hampir selalu punya pelembab. Because it’s that basic!! (I’m saying it in a good way) Karena efeknya emang paling langsung kerasa juga sih.

Terakhir kali saya pakai awal tahun 2017 lalu adalah The Body Shop Seaweed Oil-Control Gel Cream. Ini produk enak banget dan ngga bikin minyakan because it’s claimed as mattifying. Unch. Teksturnya gel, dingin, ringan, tapi super moisturizing! Murah pula (ini sih paling penting). So, why not?

Anyway, ada satu produk pelembab yang lagi saya incer, yaitu The Goodness Every Morning Mositurizer. Semoga jodoh ya!

Tips: Your moisturizer should always absorb in the skin, not just sit on the surface! If yes, then it very well may be too rich for you.

7. Protect (for daytime only)
Sepele tapi paling bikin nyesel kalo lupa dipake: sunscreen.

I won’t be talking much about this part, but if whoever read this still thinks that it’s not really important to put sunscreen on daily basis, PLEASE DON’T. From now on, take time to put on your sunscreen—less than a minute, but you will thank me later.

Ada dua sunscreen andalan saya dari jaman baheula, dari jaman masih hobi arung jeram sampai sekarang, yaitu Skin Aqua Moisture Gel SPF 30 dan Biore UV Aqua Rich Watery Essence SPF 50+. Keduanya ringan banget dipakai, ngga bikin minyakan apalagi whitecast. Aromanya pun ngga gengges. Jadi, buat kalian yang mungkin males pake sunscreen karena alasan-alasan kayak gitu, coba deh pakai dua jenis sunscreen yang saya sebutin tadi. Insya Allah barokah. Hehe.

Currently my HG mask! Kalau lagi jerawatan atau bruntusan, insya Allah langsung mereda. Tapi masih tetep kalah sih kalo dibanding Glam Glow Youthmud Tinglexfoliate Treatment.
Saya gemesh banget sih sama Lush! Produknya organik tapi ngga senarsis itu buat nge-claim dirinya organik. And those minty feeling!

Kalau lagi males banget, kadang saya cuma pakai The Face Shop Jeju Volcanic Lava Peel Off Clay Mask (buset, panjang amat judulnya!). Ini super simple karena peel off, jadi ngga repot ngebersihinnya.

Demikianlah skincare regimen saya. Cukup singkat kan? :)

After all, mau pakai produk apapun untuk perawatan wajah, kalau ngga dipakai rutin, it would be just another waste of a time. You will not be seeing the result soon enough, or worst, not at all. Because, nothing beats consistency in skincare. ;)

xoxo

Koloray, Aku Rindu

by - Monday, November 02, 2015

Haha). Kesan pertama? Morotai was hot as hell! Entah karena memang panas BANGET atau karena sugesti orang-orang yang bilang kalau Morotai sangat panas, like... you’ve got seven fuckin suns right above your head. But indeed, it was hot. Really hot. My AccuWeather said that: 34 C.

Dan dengan segala kerendahan hati orang-orangnya, tempat ini mengajarkan saya bahwa hidup itu untuk berjuang dan kemudian mensyukurinya, mengajarkan saya bahwa what people will remember about you is not what you say but more of what you do.

Koloray, aku rindu. Someday I surely will come back.

Sedikit Tentang Bunga

by - Tuesday, April 14, 2015

Marching In

by - Sunday, March 08, 2015

#uhuk

Bismillah, memasuki bulan baru (Maret) semoga saya bisa menata kondisi kejiwaan lagi. Mahasiswi Psikologi tingkat 3 loh.

Morning Reflection

by - Sunday, May 18, 2014
You lose one good person in your life, but you find another ones and even better.

Your once-a-good friend thinks you are a bad person and places yourself as his/her enemy now, but you find MORE than one person who trust and appreciate you in many other ways and always think you are good.

If we notice the pattern of all things revolved in our life, Allah would never let us suffer from sorrow and hardship for long standing. He even multiples the merits you may obtain so you don't have to worry over ONE unimportant matter and feel dejected :)

Be grateful everyday and He'll open the gate of unstoppable merits to your life.

This is what happens when you don't seek for goals, a process instead.

I am the biggest procrastinator I've ever known in my life.

Being an Early Adult

by - Monday, June 10, 2013

Who knows?

Kemudian, bertanggung jawab.
Intinya, apa yang kamu putuskan ataupun lakukan, be responsible.

At last, do you consider yourself as matured already? *pertanyaan intrapersonal*

Kodaline's All I Want and Some of My Chirps

by - Monday, April 29, 2013
I accidentally found this epic and heart-moving-kind-of-music video of a Dublin band, Kodaline, across my Twitter timeline. I love it so friggin much it brought me a lonely and lost story in such deep lyrics. Well I assume the song is actually about some break-up thing, huh?

And, these hands just can't help but post the video here because... (do not expect to hear some credible reasons regarding to me posting this since you might not want to) I've actually been wanting to write yet I can't really think up something new, original, and intriguing. Plus, I sorta don't have any idea what to do with the random ideas HERE *pointing at my own head*. LOL I'm being too honest. No, because I like it either the music video or the song itself and this is one of my ultimate favorites. So I think I should (at least) make a share post as my appreciation :)

Anyway, prepare rolls of tissue, darlings.

Let's see.. It was @inestjokro who shared this if I'm not mistaken.

Some Husky Talk

by - Thursday, April 11, 2013
I've always wanted to have a real pet. Yes, a real pet in my dictionary = the fur-bearing ones whom I can always take a walk with. Or I can spesifically say, a puppy.

Aside from the fact that I fear sharp canine teeth, moulted furs, and dripping salivas... look at those beautiful, soft fur! Puppies almost become the only pet that strike. But please note that I, honestly, still can't make my guts to literally hold and touch them with my own hands T__T *so why bother having pets if you ain't holding em* *rolling eyes*

I often go surfing to some dog lovers' sites just to look around and check out some pictures of my favorites, like Siberian Husky, Jack Russel, or Akita. The latter was a race Hachiko owned, that famous and faithful dog from Japan. He's so famous that the governor made a Hachiko statue that's now standing upright outside Shibuya Station. Too bad I didn't have a chance to visit and take some shots back then in Japan :( I'm pretty a fan of him, though.

But nothing can beat my admiration to this dashing Russian knight, Siberian Husky.

Siberian Husky. The most handsomest.
The huskies came from extremely cold and harsh environment of the Siberian Arctic, and were forced to pull heavy loads for very long distances through difficult condition. Those seem to be a quite realistic reason why huskies nowadays are used as working dog and pretty muscular. They're also highly intelligent and can excel in some obedience trials (mostly for sled-racing). Siberian Huskies are recognizable by their thickly furred double coat, sickle tail, erect triangular ears, and distinctive markings. (the italic part is the description as quoted in Wikipedia, since I'm too common to describe something I ain't expert at. LOL)

Ah! And also, unlike any other regular dogs which bark, they howl instead! Cool, aren't they?

I'm not really sure since when I fell in love with huskies. Maybe after my junior crush in high school changed his Twitter username to SIBERI(an) (hu)SKY. Hahaha. Okay, just kidding.

I was so fascinated (to siberian husky, not my junior crush) I almost got into road accident with a public bus because I was after a car with a very gorgeous Siberian Husky in it. XD

My parents, especially my mother, doesn't really like seeing some furry living stuffs hanging around the house (except Choky and Chibi, persian cats of my aunt and my cousin, well-treated and proven to be 100% clean). That's why, I have only petted some "safe" animals like fish, hamsters, and turtles since I was little.

Besides, my family are all Moslems. There's a paradigm in society that kind of restricts us from keeping a dog at home, and that's also what has been becoming my belief until now. Though it's not really written in Quran (about the restriction), but most of the Moslem scholar and society have such notion.

Why is that?

Basically in Quran, dogs are said to be desecrated (from their saliva, but later I knew that it's actually the whole body of the dog as well). Although Rasulullah SAW had never prohibited to look after dogs, but from the shari'ah, Islam tend to watch over the beneficiaries of its adherents. That's why, the "law" was set to keep us from being uncleaned/desecrated. But, in some condition, keeping a dog at home is allowed when living in some rural area where it lacks guardians. (from what I read on a trusted literature)

So, conclusion is? Well, pull it out yourself :D

Canned Food

by - Thursday, April 11, 2013

"The concept of canned food was invented in 1810. But, the can opener was invented in 1858. Weird, isn't it?
But, those kind of things happen. Important things often come after the fact. Things like love and one's lifestyle.
So, would you reconsider one last time?"

I really can't stand feeling and looking so weak,
doing something I love but end up indiscernible,
being put low,

and then... getting dashed down.

Cleopatra na Onnatachi: Hurtful Ending for Hurtful Rating.

by - Thursday, August 09, 2012
It's pretty embarrassing to finish up a snap-out dorama (which is only 8 episodes long) in no shorter than 3 days whilst having so many leisure times to spend.
So, here's this one dorama I've just done watching last night, titled Cleopatra na Onnatachi (2012). I actually don't have this kind of tendency to review or spoil doramas/movies/books/songs I have been watching/reading/listening unless directly being asked to. (rather than write them down in a blog, I'd much prefer to tell them with plump!)
But I've got this urge to claptrap about the whole thing in this dorama since it has either disappointed me or left me with enough contentment (of hurtful feelings). That doesn't mean I'm going to properly review so don't expect much! :)

CnO

Kanto's viewership rating: 0.7%
Personal rating: 3.5 out of 5

There has been A LOT of doramas with professional backgrounds brought up as a focus and most of them would pick up either detective/elite cops or medical theme.

Cleopatra na Onnatachi is actually plotted as one, it's based on a misconception of beauty & plastic surgery in laity. There was this one plastic surgery specialist in university hospital named Kishi Minetaro (Sato Ryuta) who was running in debt over his father's. Considering the salary he got in university hospital was inadequate enough to repay the bail-out every month, he decided to transfer himself to a beauty clinic hospital called BSC which definitely would give him three times of his salary in university hospital. It was really hard for Mine-sensei (Mineta's nickname in BSC) ever since the first day of his work in BSC. Surrounded by beautiful doctors (Mari-sensei/Yo Kimiko, Ichii-sensei/Inamori Izumi, Hoshida-sensei/Ashina Sei) and nurses (Ao-chan/Kitano Kii, Moe-chan, etc) who strongly believe that "faces are for lives" was tough for he needs to adapt with community that's clearly against his principle. Sad truth it is :(

cno1 cno2

Apart from the issues and pressure Mineta had in work, he has another complication; didn't believe women. But he wasn't gay either, despite living with his gay friend, Kurosaki Yu (Ayano Go). He's all okay with it.

cno5 cno8

Yu himself had to endure his feeling towards Mineta whom he had always been in love with since junior high. ;______; (Idk but I'm deadly into Yu's matter out of all matters in the whole episode more than the main idea itself.) I could presume that Go's presence and his perfect potrayal of Kurosaki Yu was the reason I kept watching it till the very end.
What's really disappointing me is the minor turnout of romance between Mineta and Ichii-sensei that seemed so.... forced and awkward and pitiful and somehow it got me so disgusted. And also the cruelity the director made to Yu, to leave him heartbroken and sacrificed for all his might. That's so bad ;____;

This dorama has a strong point in uncovering each person's problem (almost) to detail but not trying to mingle personal problem with the issues of work. However, it had some difficulties to manage a high (or at least average) rating of viewership since the first episode. :( If only they could hold out until the 11th episode, that'd be just fine. And I believe the ending would not be as "cheap" as having a forced romance between senior and junior. #Sarcasm

Let's Do The Craft!

Life after high school might not be good enough for me. Mkay, I graduated from high school already and was accepted in one of the most favorite colleges in town (or I may say, in country). Yay! That simply means I'm getting a very very long holiday (or just say I'm getting a leisure time) roughly 3 months, which I barely had in 12 years of school, until the college days officially start. So, congrats for me, maybe? :p

But after all, there must be a poor nick happening thou.... Yes, that practically makes me a full time jobless. Indeed.
Once I decided to be ~productive~ by getting a part time job but none of the job places I applied to response. *yes, laugh at me*
So here's this thing, three months being a lousy jobless somehow gets my crafty side to rise up.
I unintentionally found a crafter's blog while trolling some cute felt shops on Etsy. And seeing those cute handmade little felt dolls, felt pouches, suddenly urged me to make some on my own. (okay, I now sound like a cutie. Which sooo not me.)

I recalled I still had some felts, leftover fabrics and any other misspent crafting items. So why not start a personal workshop and do the crafts? That's how it all started.

The weapons.

First thing to make (or remake): my old agenda book.
I once had been flustered whether I should have a new agenda or just keep the old one. That's stoopid since I ended up whining to my friends because I was too distressed for not being able to decide about it myself. Stupid.
Anyway, here's the outcome.

agenda

Second thing(s): mini felt dolls.
They're too small and detailed I can't stand staring at them for hours to super-carefully sew them so that it'd come out pretty neat. And I have only made four so far :( and the other unfinished two.

Say hi to the minies!

Well, I can't really tell what is this but I purposely made this for keeping my passport and my saving book as seen in the picture ;) (guess I'd just name it tweety passport case. Ugh, so cheap.)

Lousy passport case.

And....... TADA!!!!! The so-called vintage pouch.
Cute, isn't it? ISN'T IT? Well I don't accept any answers other than a yes, because it's the prettiest thing I've made this far! Look at this ~fake~ floral Cath Kidston fabric on the inside! Straightly fell for it the moment I put a glance on the fabric piles... The vintage ribbon... Make it perfect in one step. So love it!

Next project: knitting class!

Hi!
Here's another quick update.

1. National exam is over. (well, it is like 2 weeks ago thou)

2. I didn't get to attend Super Show 4 due to some issues I had with my mom. That was pretty suck but then I realized fangirling life isn't merely about going to concerts or so. I have priorities anyway.

4. I'm currently in a maze of deciding to replace my old agenda book with a new one or to stay loyal with it. (this is such an important matter, at least for myself! :p)

5. Life after national exam is about hanging out-watching movies-going to cinema-culinary trip and most necessary is... working out! Yeah! Swimming, biking, skipping, jogging somehow work on me ;-)

6. Currently drooling for red coat/red cardi and any other red outfits! Preferably like these ones below ;) #SUPERKODE

7. Notice something new on my Tumblr page? Mixing up red with my fav color, navy. Yay!

8. Anyway, Iko Uwais and Park Chanyeol got my heart thumps really hard!!!! ♥ These two are clearly a contradiction thou, haha.

9. Bet most of 12th graders must be really busy with college enrollment stuffs. So am I. Sigh.

10. I miss school already :(

The Hunger Games!

Final_posterweb

Like every movie devotee would love this one. Who wouldn't anyway? I even dare to give 9 out of 10 for this superb sci-fi movie! Indeed did it have an amazing plot, cool effects, great actors & actresses; those exactly make The Hunger Games a really good movie and really worth to watch.

Must be wondering then, how good is The Hunger Games (at least in my eyes)? Well, for me (at first), who hasn't even read the whole series of the books by Suzanne Collins (though I have bought the first book of the trilogy-- the translated one), The Hunger Games was more like a corporation between two of my favorite films, Avatar and Twilight Saga. No? Well okay it was just my glimpse when I firstly heard about this movie back then.

The Capitol somehow would be like Pandora in Avatar, the scientific technology (like when Katniss and other tributes were applied to a detector), hybrid things... That's pretty much Avatar-like. Just when a friend told me that there would also be a fuckin triangle love, my thought practically went to Twilight Saga. Make sense, eh?

Okay, I'm warning you I'm pretty awful at reviewing things (either it's movie or book). I basically don't like to review, I SPOIL INSTEAD :P So if you hate spoilers, just stop reading this post until this part, okay? That way won't hurt your curiousity.

Since I'm too reluctant to write a brief synopsis (that's why I told you I like to spoil instead!) which you can always find via Google, I'm just gonna quote some from Wikipedia. Here you go:

The Hunger Games takes place in a nation known as Panem after the destruction of North America by some unknown apocalyptic event. Panem consists of a wealthy Capitol and twelve surrounding, poorer districts. District 12, where the book begins, is located in the coal-rich region that was formerly Appalachia.

As punishment for a previous rebellion against the Capitol in which a 13th district was destroyed, one boy and one girl between the ages of 12 and 18 from each district are selected by annual lottery to participate in the Hunger Games, an event in which the participants (or "tributes") must fight in an outdoor arena controlled by the Capitol, until only one remains. The story follows 16-year-old Katniss Everdeen, a girl from District 12 who volunteers for the 74th annual Hunger Games in place of her younger sister, Primrose. Also selected from District 12 is Peeta Mellark, a baker's son whom Katniss knows from school, and who once gave her bread when her family was starving.
And.... the spoiler starts!

From the very beginning, the feeling of tense already arose. The reaping part is my favorite! When Prim (Katniss' little sister)'s name was actually called out during the reaping, then Katniss suddenly rose against it and volunteered herself as tributes as she said, "I VOLUNTEER! I volunteer as tributes!" that was just...... epic. I don't think I would be willing to sacrifice myself that far if I were Katniss. (Suck me is suck). Haha. Though I had watched the trailer where this scene is presented before, I still had this excitement in my nerves during the movie!!

My first impression of Peeta Mellark... full of doubt. Would this guy (Josh Hutcherson) make a strong character of Peeta? And as a shocking turns-out, he did well. He did BETTER than I ever expected, and my doubt vanished right away. (Anyway, kalian anak SMADA pasti pada ga percaya kalo saya bilang Peeta disitu agak mirip Afin, apalagi pas ketawa! Fika sebagai ceweknya aja mengiyakan, lho. Lol)

Favorite part of him: when he went incognito by the river (as he painted his head & face like a boulder, and cover up his body with lichens) and suddenly Katniss almost stepped on to him and he grabbed Katniss' leg and "BA!". LOL! Startling yet so funny! Both of their expression were so priceless! And later when Katniss asked by Caesar Flickerman what did she feel when she found Peeta by the river, "I felt like the happiest person on Earth." Isn't that sweeeet <3

My third favorite part after the reaping part and Peeta gone incogito is.... the dead scene of Rue :--------( Okay this is kind of silly, but I literally cried during this scene. Especially when Katniss put garland of flowers around Rue's dead body and addressed 3-fingers-regard (which I convinced as a condolence) to the District 11 people.

Noticed any other eye-candies? DEFINITELY YES!

Say, this movie provides you with LOTS of good looking dudes. Cato (Alexander Ludwig) as one of the antagonist roles, he came from District 2 with Clove (Isabelle Fuhrman, the girl with 'mental pembunuh', I name her :p). And then, Cinna (Lenny Kravitz-- GOSH HE'S HOT!), Seneca Crane (Wes Bentley), tribute guys from District 3 and 8 (if I'm not mistaken). And don't forget Gale (Liam Hemsworth)! The one who would have a so-called triangle love with Katniss and Peeta.

I don't really ship Gale-Katniss relationship thou, it's kind of whimsy, don't you think? Unlike the originally-built-feeling of Peeta to Katniss which is so cute! They make a nice couple! In fact, the approved-feeling of Katniss to Peeta was actually made for the games only :-(

As my fourth favorite part: when Katniss & Peeta kissed, just look at Gale's heartbroken expression. *ROFL*

Okay. OKAY. I've spoilt almost everything. There are still lots of my favorite scenes I want to share, tho :-( At last, you will never regret watching this movie. Instead, you will crave for the sequel and be rotten waiting 22th November 2013 to come. :-D

May the odds be ever in your favor.
